Say Daddy-O, what's the scoop on this FairWestSwing thing? Founded in January 2005, the FairWestSwing Project© is bringing Swing back to the Fairfield / Westchester County Area. The FairWestSwing Project hosts Swing Dances and conducts Swing Dance Workshops which are very beginner friendly. The FairWestSwing Project bridges the gap between the Swing Dance Societies serving Central & Eastern Connecticut and the Swing Dance Societies serving Manhattan & Central New York. Click on "Swing Dance Etiquette" to read what it's like at a FairWestSwing Dance. "Learn to Swing" lists descriptions of the various Swing Dance Workshops. "Lowdown on the Hoedown" will take you to the Events Calendar. "Yakatta Yakatta" links to our Dancers Forum. At the soon to open "Hop Shop" you will be able to purchase music from a Library of Swing and Blues. This Web Site is still under construction with more to come including an archive of the Swing History of Fairfield / Westchester and a Dictionary of Swing Speak. You'll be hip to the jive in nothing flat! It is my hope, the FairWestSwing Project, through raising awareness of the music & dance of the Swing Era and the history of Swing in the Fairfield / Westchester Area , may contribute to the preservation of this genre. So much of the wealth, born of this incredible creative genius, has already been lost. Coming out of Harlem, first in the early 1920's, Swing became the foundation for the music and dance of modern America. Thank you for your interest and this opportunity for me to share my passion for the Music and Dance of Swing. Welcome to the FairWestSwing Project and the Northeast's Swing Dance Community.
